These are some our Clubs best Jeeping Camping wild adventures on and off the road: National Public Lands Day, September 6th 2006The Ogden Utah Wasatch Outlaw Wheelers Tackle a Cleanup in Millville Canyon, in the Fall of 2006.Here's a few pictures of some serious Trail Cleanup and restoration work. The gathering started small but was a powerful crew once the work started.
Bryce Lofthouse and Amanda got to use their flatbed Dodge to haul up the remaining telephone pole size posts.
Here are John's comments about the event: "As I understand it there were 22 other clubs around the state that were doing the same thing in their respective areas last Saturday. The local newspaper talked to me as well as several others about the project in an effort to put together a story, so I think this is a good oportunity to get the word out that we aren't just the bad guys." Don't Worry folks John is a trained Professional.
This was the Wasatch Outlaws co-operative service project with the Forest Service to restore a badly damaged Riparian area by building a diversion dam and putting up about 500 ft of fence.
Here are Larry Olsen's comments on the Event: "With some "11th hour" frantic phone calling we were able to round up enough Outlaws and two "hired hands" to cover our commitment to the Forest Service. I would like to thank John Waldron and Scott Bowcutt for the work they performed because both are still recovering from a previous shoulder surgeries. Shaun and Tony Howard got to take care of a motorcyclist that had crashed and burned thus ending up with a broken arm. Bryce Lofthouse and Amanda got to use their flatbed Dodge to haul up the remaining telephone pole size posts. Bryce and hired hand Jeff Herzog were the workhorses for digging the holes, out of about 25 holes made only 5 holes were dug using the powered auger, the other 20 were dug inch by inch down with a pinch bar and shovel........can you say ROCKS from Hades. Everyone there got to work out their muscles for sure, I hope the soreness fades fast."
